Week 26!!!

This week has been a fun one for new things happening with Nixon! And Kohn finally gets to join in on the fun, and not just hear about it :) Nixon finally gave daddy a good kick! Kohn loved it, it was precious!

We've had a fun week in general! We went to the temple with our friends on Tuesday, Wednesday we ran into a drunk guy (kinda scary though), and last night we had our friends over to watch the USU/Utah game and ate pizza and yummy stuff! Sadly the game didn't end up like we would have liked, it was still fun though! But the temple...that brings me to another fun Nixon story!

As I was sitting there in the session Nixon started to kick my square in the gut, and he was going crazy. So I looked down and could totally see my stomach moving with his kicks! Definitely one of the coolest things ever! :)

So I'm at work on my break so I'm going to quickly cut this short!

*Nixon is the size of a head of lettuce and is inching towards 2 pounds now!

How far along? 26 weeks! I can't believe in 2 more weeks we'll be in the 3rd, and final, trimester!
Total weight gain/loss: Still hanging out at 15!
Sleep: I definitely have to wake up every night to visit the bathroom at least once and then I wake up multiple times to get comfortable again and again...and again.
Best moment this week: Definitely when Kohn was able to feel Nixon kick him in the face! And of course when I saw him kicking in the temple!
Miss anything? Energy.
Movement? Of course! I'm feeling him everyday now, and Kohn can normally get him to kick him at night before bed. He hasn't been moving as much as I'd like him to be the past couple days though, but he's been hanging out more towards my back too, so I'm sure I'm just not feeling all the kicks he's kicking.
Food cravings: I just like food.
Have you started to show yet? That I surely have.
Gender? BOY!!!!!
Labor signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? In but it will be out soon enough.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time? Honestly it just depends on the day...and who you are ;)
Looking forward to: Getting started on the nursery. And getting the glucose test done with in the next few weeks.

Week 25!!!

Out of all my pregnant friends, 5 of them are having girls...my little man needs guy friends, people! We have some cousins that we were born in June and July that are both boys so that will be great but still! We have a group of friends that does FHE every Monday and 4 of us are preggers. 2 of them know they are having a girl, I know I'm having a boy, and our other friend will find out what she's having in about 7 weeks...and I keep telling her it better be a boy to even it out! We'll see how that goes...

So other than that I'm really drawing a blank on what to say...oh last night we headed up to Tony's Grove to have a little camping adventure with a group of friends and it rained...just about the whole time. We grilled our burgers, stuffed our faces under umbrellas, and then the girls ran to the tent while the boys grilled their brats and sat in the rain, all 4 cuddled under an umbrella (presh). It really was pretty fun though and we've got a pretty great group of friends!

So I've decided working at a daycare has its perks...every time a mom brings in blankets or diapers or something to donate to the infant room, the infant teachers usually think of me and bring the stuff to me. I've received 4 boy blankets (that were like brand new), and I got some newborn diapers yesterday, crazy to think that he will be that tiny, for just a minute though haha babies grow sooo fast!

I'm getting more and more excited because we're going to start working on getting the nursery together in the next month or so. Next week we're going to order our crib and the crib set we found and pick some paint and go from there! Of course we've gotta get things taken care of in our spare bedroom first though. Kohn's gotta go through his closet, we've gotta get rid of a lot of crap, including an elliptical (that's not crap) that's hardly been touched, so if anyone knows anyone that wants to buy one, keep us in mind. It's in great condition, just sayin ;) and....basically babies are a lot of work, and we're excited! :)

*Nixon is the size of a head of cauliflower!
*Nails are starting to form on his fingers and toes.
*He is starting to grasp his hands and wiggle his fingers and toes.

How far along? 25 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Still hanging out at 15.
Sleep: It was definitely harder for me to sleep this week, because all I wanted to do was sleep on my belly!
Best moment this week: Kohn and I finally agreeing on a crib set!
Miss anything? Sleeping on my belly...
Movement? Yes, but he likes to hang out in the back so it's subtle a lot of the time. Kohn still hasn't felt him move but he can find where Nixon is sitting, which is pretty cool too!
Food cravings: Chocolate kisses...
Have you started to show yet? Yes, but when I went to the dentist the assistant was so kind to tell me that I did not look as far along as I am, and then later that day another girl said the same thing.
Gender? BOY!!!!!
Labor signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? In but it will be out soon enough.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time? I've been moody this week. I've gotten irritated by the littlest things and am just on a roll...so sorry.
Looking forward to: Getting started on the nursery.

Week 24!!!

Can you believe that August is halfway done! I swear I was just writing about Kohn getting back from Seattle, which was the 1st of August! Time seriously flies, and I know I say that all the time! But I found out I was pregnant in April, 4-almost 5-months ago and I thought time would never pick up. And here we are, more than halfway. I'm only a short 4 weeks away from the 3rd trimester!

A friend of mine made a very good point, it's only going to get faster cause we're coming up on all the holidays before baby comes! We've got school starting (I know, not a holiday, but still), then Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! But our baby will be here before Christmas, and maybe even a little bit before Thanksgiving, but I highly doubt that. Who knows though? We'll just have to see, and it'll be here to know before we know it!

We are trying to figure out how we want to do Nixon's nursery. I think we've both decided we really like the blue and brown look. But we might look blue and gray. We're not entirely sure, but it's fun making all these little decisions! And it'll be even more fun when everything starts getting put together, like painting the nursery, and putting the crib together, and setting up the bedding in the crib! Oh I'm excited!

P.S. I might have said it before, but oh well, I'll say it now too. When Nixon is here you can expect there to be pictures on my blog posts. I think I just need to figure it out first haha

So, let's talk a little more about Nixon! :)

*Nixon is the size of a cantaloupe.
*It's not visible by ultrasound, or probably even very dark, but Nixon has hair on his head!
*Little man is figuring out the breathing technique! :)

How far along? 24 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: 15 pounds. Right on track but still freaks me out.
Sleep: Sleep is starting to become harder because getting comfortable is harder.
Best moment this week: Definitely hearing his heartbeat at my appointment yesterday.
Miss anything? I've said it before and I'll say it again, running.
Food cravings: They're these awesome crackers called Nut-Thins. So good.
Have you started to show yet? Yes, yes I have.
Gender? BOY!!!!!
Labor signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? In but it will be out soon enough.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time? I've been pretty happy this week!
Looking forward to: Just getting further and further along  :)

Week 23!!!

Another week has come and gone and here we are. I thought measuring the pregnancy in weeks would make it go by slow but I actually kind of like it. Because the baby progresses so much so fast that something new is happening every week. I love it!

Baseball is done this year :( I can't believe how fast the season went, meaning how fast summer went! But next baseball season Kohn will have his baby boy cheering him on (as much as a baby can) and that will be fun! :)

All we've really done in the last week is work and do the usual so I think we'll make this a short post and jump right on over to covering baby stuff!

*Nixon is as big as a grapefruit!

How far along? 23 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I don't know at this point.
Sleep: Nixon thinks it's time to roll around and kick when mommy decides she's going to lay down to sleep. But his kicks are still small enough that they don't wake me up yet so I still usually get decent sleep.
Best moment this week: Nixon had been sort of quiet and not moving a whole lot since Monday and I was worrying about it but when I sat down and ate a bowl of Reeses Puffs he was all over the place, so that was pretty awesome! :) but he is still small enough that there will be days that I go without feeling him.
Miss anything? Tying my shoes without it being a chore. And I'm not even as big as I'll be haha I'm in for it!
Movement: Yes, as I mentioned above :)
Food cravings: Now I just want to eat Reeses Puffs all the time.
Have you started to show yet? That I have.
Gender? BOY!!!!!
Labor signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time? I've been pretty happy this week!
Looking forward to: My appointment next week so I can hear his little heartbeat again :)

Week 22!!!

This week has been a weird week. Kohn has been in Seattle since Sunday, and I've been alone. Other than late nights at work these are the first nights we've spent apart since we've been married. 4 nights to be exact, and I am not a fan. He went to Seattle for work, so basically he got paid to play(ish), so it was great for him to get some vacation cause he always works so hard, but I just really missed him! I am tracking his flight right now, he's almost landing in Salt Lake! I'll be seeing him around 9:30! :)

This week has also been a weird one because...I don't even know how to explain it. All I know is I'm grateful for prayer, moments of peace, and the strong people in my life.

I don't really know much of what to say. I had a pretty boring week without my husband, though I did try to fill my time with family so that was nice. Oh but we have taken up tennis, so I'm excited to be able to play tomorrow. It's been a good little workout for this pregnant girl. I am excited to be able to play next summer when the baby is out of my belly and I don't have to worry about hurting him or anything, and getting out of breath 2 minutes into the game ;)

Anyways, let's talk about Nixon!

*Nixon is the size of a papaya!
*When I get hungry, which is practically all the time it seems, Nixon can hear my tummy grumbling.
*Nixon is getting closer to being able to see bright lights, we'll have to experiment and put a flashlight to my belly and see if he turns away!

How far along? 22 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Probably 12ish based on what I should be gaining and I've been pretty on track so far.
Sleep: Nixon thinks it's time to roll around and kick when mommy decides she's going to lay down to sleep. But his kicks are still small enough that they don't wake me up yet so I still usually get decent sleep.
Best moment this week: It will definitely be when Kohn gets home! :)
Miss anything? I really miss running! I know I've said it before, but I really do.
Movement: Yes, he's been an active little guy.
Food cravings: Steak sounds really great.
Have you started to show yet? Yeah, I just think I look fat though, haha
Gender? BOY!!!!!
Labor signs? Nope.
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time? This time I'll say moody.
Looking forward to: Kohn getting here, obviously, and I'm sure you knew I was going to say that! :)
